Crusty in character, like its literary namesake, the Toasted Blonde or Ove's Loaf is a classic sourdough with a twist. The wheat and rye flour mingle with cracked wheat from Frankferd Farms' solar powered mill to create a timeless flavor.
This artisan bread reminds Novel Breads of Ove from the Swedish novel, A Man Called Ove, as it is straightforward, unembellished by strange ingredients or flavor. It is rustic and rugged, and like Ove, it is full of depth and personality. In the story, Ove discovers that when he blends his life with his neighbors, his life is made richer much like the flavorful blend of wheat, rye, and spent grains in this sourdough. Each time you have a slice of the hearty Ove's Loaf, think of the curmudgeony, yet loving, Swedish character.
